Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Intervention Training Begins May 3rd.
Women’s Resource Center, trains volunteers for hotline – and sexual assault response team.

Oceanside, CA – An intensive 60-hour training for hotline volunteers will start on Saturday, May 3rd, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30: p.m., at the Women’s Resource Center in Oceanside, 1963 Apple Street. The Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Intervention course will run four Saturdays (all day), and every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings from 6:00 – 9:30 p.m., in May. “How we respond to victims of domestic violence can determine their next choice to seek safety from their abusers,” says Arnita Moore, Community Education Specialist. To register and schedule an interview, volunteers may call 760-757-3500.

There is no charge to attend this course, but a $34.00 fee is required for a background check, due the second week of training. Candidates must meet with the Volunteer Coordinator prior to Thursday, April 17, 2014. Attendees will earn a certification for answering Hotline Crises calls and train to support sexual assault victims at a forensic hospital within San Diego County.

Women’s Resource Center is not-for-profit, dedicated to providing the highest quality supportive services, counseling, shelter and education to North San Diego County women, children and men involved in or threatened by domestic violence or sexual assault.
